Unexpected Japan, 2018
Published in https://eldoradoexperience.org
Japan is a place you think you already know before you've been there. There endless references about japanese culture and of their landscapes in the western society. Which is why, as soon as you get there, you are anxious to find all those images you had created in your mind.
But what this trip has taught me, is that it's impossible to truly understand Japan without deconstructing and letting go of every single stereotype.
I travelled on my own around Japan for ten days, visiting cities like Kyoto, Naoshima and Tokyo and I didn't find myself being inspired nor having any connection with the places my travel guide recommended. I had to stop planing things to start enjoying the most simple and unexpected situations. And that is how all these pictures came to life. None of them were planned.
